Byng Inlet to Beaverstone Bay

These three legs were short 18-20 NM, with a couple nights in the Bustard Islands on the way to the GLCC Wilderness Rally in Beaverstone Bay.

I stayed four nights in Beaverstone Bay for the Rally, which was a lot of fun!  There were lots of activities and the anchorage was huge with lots of room for all the boats, about 30.

There was 1700 happy hour each evening ashore and afterward more visiting on each other's boats, or playing "Uno."

On one evening several boats were selected to host happy hour, of which I was one, each was assigned four to five guests.  Everyone had to pick a boat with crew they had not met before.

Daytime was more open with a "nature" scavenger hunt on your own, a book exchange, dinghy races, and on the last night, a "chili dump".  Everyone brought stuff to eat with the main course being chili.  Each boat cooked their own chili and then "dumped" it into one huge kettle.  It was great!

I am now in Killarney for two nights before I move on.  The winds will be strong tomorrow which may modify my plans.  Last night we went out to the Sportsman's Inn, very classy with linen table cloths, and the works!  Very good food, but expensive.  Afterward some of us walked down to the Killarney Mountain Lodge to listen to a folk singer that is well known in these parts, and very good.  The place was standing room only by the time I got there.

One other boat stayed tonight so we will get together for dinner and listen to some more music.  I got a few grocery staples here enough to hold me until I get to Little Current again.
