Bimini Support

For those not fortunate enough to have the hardtop over your cockpits, you have probably gotten a dollop of water down your neck a few times when the Bimini decides to dump it's load of rain!

I have had this happen enough, I tried a fix, by putting a support in the middle that will improve shedding of the water.  It should avoid the collection of puddles that the Bimini decides to dump down your neck when you least suspect it!

Below shows the forward support fitting screwed into the roof.  Note the zipper pocket sewed into the cover.

Below is the aft end of the support.  I tapped two holes in the large diameter pipe to attach this fitting.  The support had to be shortened a couple inches from the rough fabrication done during the winter season.

A View From Above

Last night we had some heavy rain showers and it did a much better job of shedding the water on the mooring here in the harbor.  We will see how it works over time and while underway in rain.
