Lay Day 1-Put In Bay (Day 22)

0600-Went to bed early last night and, in spite of some discomfort in my back, still managed to rest. Woke early and will go ashore for breakfast and get gas and ice. Need to defost fridge again.

ONE OF THE MORE UNIQUE HOMES

THE MOORING FIELD IN THE MORNING

0830-Took the dinghy to shore instead of using the taxi got ice and gas. Found a place to tie up the dinghy.

THE RACE FLEET GETTING READY

0900-Back aboard the boat unloading the fridge to defrost. Will go ashore for breakfast soon.

1030-Had breakfast ashore and then returned to the boat to check on fridge progress.

Got a call from Bob Wolfe in Lorain, OH (Beaver Park Marina) a Yamaha dealer that Pieter (the owner) talked with already.  He decided to proceed with replacement of both engines in Lorain.

Unfortunately, the marina is a small boat harbor with minimum depth of only 2' so there is no way I can get in there. I suggested Spitzer Lakeside Marina, right in Lorain, so that is the tentative next harbor.

I gave Bob all the specs on the engines and took a bunch of pictures for him.  I have to go ashore to find a place to send them.

1100-After compiling everything on the boat I went ashore to send the email to Bob with pics so they know what they are dealing with. Had a nice lunch and then walked around afterward. Returned to the boat and started the generator to boost the batteries.

ON THE MOORINGS

WATER TAXI
JUST ONE OF THE UNIQUE ESTABLISHMENTS IN TOWN

1400-Repacked the fridge and put together the two blogs I was behind on. It finally dawned on me that I should have gotten a password for the moorings last night when the guy collected the money. I just didn't think about it because I thought the moorings were managed by the city, but they are not. Anyway, I am on the internet again!

1900-The fridge is slowly catching up but has a way to go.  I will finish this and go out and do some clean up on the side of the boat where there is some dirt and if I can get up enough energy, will go ashore for a snack and glass of wine before bed.
